Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is facing criticism from fans due to his association with Vivid Seats, a U.S.-based ticket resale platform. Vivid Seats lists tickets for Chelsea and other Premier League matches at significantly inflated prices, with some tickets reaching up to £9,000. The Premier League has identified Vivid Seats as an unauthorized ticketing website, and UK laws prohibit the resale of football tickets above face value. British fans are unable to purchase tickets through this platform, but foreign tourists can. The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust has expressed concern over this conflict of interest, labeling it a “breach of trust” and urging Boehly to address the issue promptly. They also highlighted that only 17% of fans trust the club to combat ticket touting, with 68% believing that not enough is being done. Vivid Seats has stated that it complies with local regulations and restricts UK sellers from listing Premier League tickets. Chelsea and the Premier League have declined to comment on the matter.
