Welcome to the teckel Website. By using our Website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you use the teckel App, the App’s own terms also apply.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using this Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this Website.
2. Changes
We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms & Conditions.
3. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You agree to use this Website and our services for lawful purposes and not to engage in any activity that could harm the Website, our services or other Users.
You must not use our services to break the law, to harm or impersonate others, to send unsolicited messages, to interfere with or reverse-engineer our software, or to access them by automated means without our permission. You must not use them if you are, or act for someone who is, on a UK, EU, UN or US sanctions list, or from a country under a UK, EU, UN or US embargo. You can report abuse at teckel.io/report-abuse.
4. Intellectual Property
All content on this Website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of teckel. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content without prior written permission.
Content you give us — the messages you send through our forms, your conversations with Ethera, and the documents Benedict prepares for you — stays yours. You allow us to use it to provide the service you asked for and, for conversations with Ethera, to check and improve her answers.
5. teckel Credits (tc)
teckel credits (tc) are a prepaid unit that you buy as an in-app purchase in the teckel App and spend on teckel’s own services. tc do not expire. tc are not money or e-money, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for cash. Prices are published on our pricing page. Promotional and referral codes can add tc to an account under the conditions published with the code. tc purchases can only be refunded under the terms of the app store you bought through. If you lose access to your account, you lose access to its tc; we cannot move them to another account.
6. Your Account and Keys
The teckel App keeps your account’s private key on your device; your recovery phrase is used only to create the key and is not stored. If you make the optional backup, it is encrypted with a passphrase that only you know: we hold something we cannot read, and we cannot recover the passphrase. Whoever holds the key or the phrase controls the account and everything in it, including its tc, so keep both secret and keep your own backup off the device. We cannot recover a lost key or phrase and cannot restore an account or its tc. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
Your account is an Ethereum account, but the teckel App is not a general-purpose crypto wallet and offers no facility for sending ether as part of normal use. If ether is sent to your account address, the way to move it is to export the private key to another wallet application, and a transaction on the Ethereum blockchain is immutable.
7. Using the teckel App
The teckel App is available only from Apple’s App Store and Google Play, and their terms also apply to the download and to in-app purchases of tc. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the App and our services under these Terms.
8. Public Records
tc purchases and balances are recorded by teckel and by the app store you bought through, not on any blockchain. If ether is sent to your account address, that transfer is recorded on the public Ethereum blockchain and is immutable. Documents that Benedict stores on IPFS are encrypted automatically before they are stored; anything else you store on IPFS through teckel is public unless you encrypt it first. Content stored on IPFS cannot be edited, and we cannot guarantee that every copy of it is ever deleted.
9. Merchandise Store
Orders in our store are made with Teckel Services Limited; the store is managed by our affiliate Risk Logical Limited, and orders are printed to order and shipped by our fulfilment partner, Printful. You pay by PayPal: the amount is authorised at checkout and taken when we confirm the order. We deliver to the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man.
If an item arrives misprinted, damaged or faulty, or does not arrive, please tell us within 30 days of delivery (or of the estimated delivery date) so that we can claim it from our print partner, and we will replace it or refund you. If you buy as a consumer, you may also cancel an order within 14 days of receiving it and return the goods unused for a refund: contact us first, and return postage is at your cost unless the item is faulty. Nothing on this page reduces your statutory rights, including your rights when goods are faulty.
10. AI and Other Systems
Benedict, Ethera and the assistants in the teckel App produce their answers with artificial intelligence. Their output can be wrong or incomplete: check it before you rely on it, and stay responsible for your own records and decisions. Our services also depend on systems we do not run, including the Ethereum blockchain, IPFS, the app stores and the AI providers, and we are not responsible for their outages or errors.
11. Availability and Suspension
We work to keep our services available but do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change, suspend or withdraw a service. If we withdraw a service that holds your content, we will give you reasonable notice so that you can take copies. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or the law, or that puts other users, our services or third parties at risk; you can appeal by contacting us.
12. Business Users
If you use our services for a business or a practice, you confirm that you are authorised to act for it and to bind it to these Terms.
13. Disclaimers
The information on this Website is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the content.
14. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall teckel be liable for any losses or damage, including any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the teckel Website and/or the teckel Software and/or the teckel Platform.
15. General
These Terms are the whole agreement between you and teckel about the Website and the services described here, and they replace any earlier understanding. If any part of them is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor business. We may send you notices by e-mail or through the App or the Website. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as power or network failures, industrial action, natural disasters, war, epidemics, cyber-attacks or the acts of governments.
16. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Isle of Man.
